You and your guests will be treated with historic stone backdrops, forests and gardens and a gorgeous glass greenhouse. We have buildings from 3 different centuries and each have a story to tell.

At Historic Shady Lane, we want to make your wedding day as easy and stress-free as possible by providing suites for getting ready onsite, a tented reception space, separate cocktail hour area, tables and chairs, multiple ceremony options and more.
We'll provide the wedding day staples so you can work on the fun part of planning those parts of the day that best describe you!

Historic Shady lane is the most magical venue I have ever been to. The staff went above and beyond to make sure all of our details were covered, before and during our day. We especially appreciated their genuine excitement, calm but friendly presence, and meticulous attention to our wants and needs. I dreamt about this day but was overjoyed to find that it was made even more beautiful than I imagined, mostly thanks to HSL. 10/10 would recommend. There are so many opportunities for brides to make this venue their dream day with their own style. Also shout out to Bradania for being there for us through every question, and every issue. I couldn’t have asked for someone sweeter and on top of it to check in with us throughout the day. She is so considerate and really made the day go smoothy.

Historic Shady Lane is absolutely beautiful in every way! Romantic charm that you can't beat! Bradania and the staff we had were supportive every step of the way, easily accessible and responsive, flexible and helpful! Our wedding date had to be switched because of Covid, and HSL immediately was there with information and options to help us decide how to handle what a mess it made. We were able to seamlessly reschedule our wedding date to an available day, and they helped make sure our new day went as smoothtly as possible, taking into consideration precautions to help make our guests feel more comfortable. I can't say enough how thankful I am to work with such great people, and to have my wedding at such a beautiful venue!

If you are looking for a magical, fairytale location then look no further. Historic Shady Lane is a gorgeous property with an amazing staff and team. Living in Florida and planning a wedding can be overwhelming but they were so helpful leading up to the day and incredibly helpful day of! With ceremony location changes day of etc. there were no hiccups and I wouldn’t change a single thing about the whole day. From the adorable bridal cottage to get ready in to the gorgeous greenhouse and perfect reception tent. And the whole property allows for some very dreamy romantic pictures. Amazing amazing amazing !!!!

If you don't have your wedding venue yet, do yourself a favor and book Historic Shady Lane (HSL). The venue is breathtaking and the staff is amazing. Bradania and the entire HSL team were so helpful along the way and made the wedding day run smoothly. Not only did they remind me about upcoming things pertaining to the venue, they also reminded me of other day of details. Bradania let me know linen sizes and even gave recommendations of where to order lunch for the bridal party. The staff made sure guests were comfortable and had golf carts readily available for the older guests, the day of the wedding. They even carted me everywhere because I had a larger dress. Along with amazing staff, the venue is gorgeous. I fell in love the first time I stepped foot on the property and all my guests couldn't believe the charm. If you want the prettiest spot in York with the nicest people, then look no further. HSL is the place for you!
